The annual Cherry Grove House Blessing, postponed a week to its rain date, took place on June 20. In the absence of Bishop Harold Seeley, who is ailing, Sybil Bruncheon administered the blessing, sprinkling dwellings and businesses in need of aid with assorted potions and Earl Grey tea. Assisting were a trio of nuns, Sisters Mary Troy, Mary Brian and Edwina, as well as Urban Sprawl and Valerie Perez.
The House Blessing collected donations for worthy Grove organizations the Arts Project of Cherry Grove (APCG), the Cherry Grove Community Association (CGCAI), the Dunes Fund, the Doctor’s Fund, the Fire Department, the Memorial Fund, and the Pines Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Cherry Grove Chapter.
